Sri Lanka participates in 2018 Warsaw World Travel Show

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Warsaw, in association with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, participated in the 3rd World Travel Show at the PTAK Warsaw Expo, held from 19-21 October.

The World Travel Show is one of the major events in the tourist industry in Poland. The objective of the how is to promote the latest trends in national and foreign tourism.

Tourism material from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau were distributed among the large number of visitors to the Sri Lanka stand looking for more information on Sri Lanka. The Embassy staff was responding to their questions, and complimentary cups of Ceylon tea were served to the visitors.

In addition, on the sidelines of the Travel Show, a well-attended presentation was made where Sri Lanka was presented to the Polish media and the general public as an ideal tourist destination.

Polish tourist arrivals have increased by approximately 25% as compared to the previous year due to tourism promotional initiatives in Poland. A significant increase in the number of Polish tourists visiting Sri Lanka is expected in 2019.
