The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) with the support of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Russia Federation participated at the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition in Russia from 23 to 26 March at the Fairgrounds Expo Centre, Moscow.
The colourful Sri Lanka booth became one of the main attractions of the visitors to the fair which was organised by the SLTPB with the participation of industry stakeholders. The stand depicted eight themes which were Pristine, Essence, Heritage, Wild, Thrills, Heritage, Festivals and Bliss, highlighting main tourist attractions of the island.
The 50-year Tourism Golden Jubilee celebration logo was also depicted on the Sri Lanka Tourism stand to highlight the importance of this milestone.
The Sri Lanka Stand was declared opened by Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation. MITT is the Russia’s largest and longest running travel exhibition which has participation of over 1,800 companies and 192 destinations and is considered to be the key meeting place for the industry and an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and clients.
The travel exhibition has concluded successfully, creating awareness of the country and opportunities for tourism industry stakeholders of Sri Lanka.
